Samovar Cafe was when I first ate Russian food. I absolutely enjoyed the food and the stories that the owner had to tell me. Growing up in India as a child, I am very familiar with a Samovar and Russian culture. I almost felt like I was talking to my friend's parents, the conversation was warm and jovial.
We got an assorment of foods, the borscht was outstanding as were the dumplings called phelmeni. The cabbage rolls were served with really good sour cream, thick and creamy. For dessert I got a layered cake, for the life of me I do not remember what it was called.
Great place to try Russian food. I look forward to going back.
